The group of Research Associates (WiMis) is the largest employee group at TU Berlin, yet it faces the most precarious conditions: short-term contracts, sometimes over many years, a strong dependency on supervisors, and a heavy workload. The Personnel Council also has limited participatory rights regarding Research Associates, which is why we are particularly committed to advocating for them and their working conditions.
We stand for:
- Transparent selection processes
- Optimal step assignments
- Longer or more predictable contract terms
- Creation of permanent positions and planned career paths
- Revision of the teaching load regulation
- Introduction of a work-time model suitable for academia
- Implementation of measures from the Research Associates Study
- Equal treatment of externally funded and state-funded Research Associates, e.g., in contract extensions due to parental leave
