The Personnel Council has co-determination rights over TU Berlin workplace design, including planned construction projects. TU employees frequently raise concerns about the poor state of TU buildings, with reports of crumbling infrastructure, entire buildings closed off, and even ceilings collapsing. These issues also affect TU Berlin’s internal and external image.
Our ver.di list will address this significant topic and demand action!
The ver.di list advocates for:
- Prompt response and repair when structural deficiencies are reported
- More staff for maintenance and repair of TU infrastructure
- Renovation and/or new construction
- Effective support and information for employees during TU-internal relocations and construction projects
- Necessary decisions to protect employee health, including potential building closures with alternative arrangements
- Honest and open communication about building conditions
- Constructive, solution-oriented collaboration with the construction department
